When do we start living
How do we define it
Is it living when actions are taken
Is it living just because we exist
When will we be able to say
From this point on, my life really begins
Before this point, was my trial run
My preparations are done and I’m ready to face forward
Its funny how the world we live in
Is so different than the world we imagined as youngsters
But exactly the world we expected.
I pour my thoughts
On these pages
What are they
My saving graces?
Nay, they are nothing
much like you and I.
In the grand scheme of things
we’re just playing house inside
a toilet sink.
Your eyes still burns as bright as the stars in the sky
But your heart grows darker than empty space.
Chase chase chase!
You keep chasing the dragon
Ignoring wisdom
You continue onward
Knowing it’s impossible to catch
and doesn’t exist.
Your heart flies
as birds do to the south.
Chasing summers
And losing winters
No matter the time that passes
You will always be lovely to me.
Coming back
to your lies, your cheats, your abuse.
I can’t blame that on me.
For so long
I’ve been too busy loving you for who you are
Instead of loving me for who I am.
The truth is often scarier than the shadows
that dances in the night.
They are endings which we’re too scared to face.
I know it’s easy to do
But hold on
Don’t give yourselves away
Just yet.
